Divinity: Original Sin

A phenomenal turn based, cooperative RPG based loosely on Tabletop RPGs such as Dungeons and Dragons, D:OS has loads of humor, action, and adventure to sate any RPG aficionado.

The game has a fairly basic character customization for appearance, but the customization of attributes and skills is where the game really shines. There are no “classes” in this game, and even the options you pick to start from are fully customizable and more akin to presets.

The writing is generally quite good, with plenty humor to keep your adventure entertaining to the very end. Even losing to the final boss rewards you with an alternative ending of sorts. Then there’s the loads of side quests and other content to do as well.

Graphically, the game still holds up well, though it does show it’s age a little. The colors aren’t overly vibrant or harsh on the eyes, and you can easily tell what something is at a glance.

Gameplay is a mix of turn based combat with real time exploration in an isometric perspective. If playing cooperatively, you can not only explore differing areas of the same map, but fight different encounters entirely if you want to, though I highly advise against doing so!

The music in this game is fairly good, being somewhat typical fantasy RPG music. It’s calm when exploring, picks up in intensity while in combat, and blends very well into the background.

Overall, I’d rate Divinity: Original Sin as a must play for any RPG lover.
